When Ben is reading old newspapers on microfilm in the library, the headline reads “Local couple hit with DUI”
Scenario
An author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot to seek inspiration for his next book, only to find the townspeople being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot is to make vampires scary again. It wants to break away from the sexier, more romantic undead that have taken over pop culture over the past quarter-century, thanks to everything from Interview with the Vampire to Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. The work is believed to have been printed in 1956, a time when the term “DUI”; it was not used yet..
I loved the look of the vampires

Good action scenes
It had the makings of a good horror movie, I just think it would be better as a miniseries. I needed more time to get to know these characters better. More time to develop those relationships. I think Lewis does a very good job as an actor with what he’s been given, but his character needs more development.
He’s kind of nothing
His backstory has no bearing on the story, other than a vague “only outsiders win”; in a sense. Like I think he has a purpose as a writer (besides obviously playing Stephen King) like he could be the one doing the research but no. The only thing we know about him is that his parents died when he was a child, and that doesn’t help either. Again, at least Lewis does a good job with what little he’s been given.

But having said that, I think a miniseries would have been better to give more time to the characters.. The final season of "What We Do in the Shadows" is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
