Scenario
A retired CIA agent is haunted by both the agency he once worked for and his own nightmares when he is suddenly visited by an unknown man after nearly three decades. Production was suspended in March 2020 due to government restrictions. During this time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was then treated. After he recovered, the series returned to production. Bridges referred to the return as coming back from “a long weekend”; for podcast in July 2022. Aired at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024). I watched this miniseries because of Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow. They never disappoint, but the plot and script sure did. So much of the plot was full of holes and the support was often like wood. A thriller like this should never leave the viewer bored. Unfortunately, it worked for me.
